Wireless Network (LAWN)
Information regarding the use and sponsorship of LAWN accounts for users and guests.
The Howey Physics building is fully covered with the GTwireless network, also known as LAWN. Any School of Physics personnel including faculty, staff and students can access the wireless network by using their Georgia Tech credentials. In the same way, everybody can sponsor up to two guests simultaneously for up to 5 days to use the wireless network.
Configuring your computer to use LAWN
- Obtain the WEP key.
- Follow the LAWN configuration instructions appropriate for your Operating system.
NOTE: Some windows computers will not see the GTwireless network after it has been added following the configuration instructions. If your computer only detects FASTPASS, try disabling and re-enabling your Wireless card or simply reboot your computer. After doing that, your computer will be able to see GTwireless.
Guest Accounts
If you have a guest and would like to create an account for them, please go to the guest sponsoring page. You will need to use your Georgia Tech credentials to create guest accounts. Please make sure to select the appropriate account duration, otherwise, the account will only work for 30 minutes. Long term guests should get Georgia Tech accounts which will grant them access to LAWN.
After you have obtained the guest credentials, simply configure their computer just as you would do yours.
